What ifā€¦

ā€¦your PokĆ©mon could get sick, but stronger for some reason?

Features

  • Your PokĆ©mon may contract PokĆ©rus randomly when battling wild PokĆ©mon.
  • Infected PokĆ©mon in your party may affect other PokĆ©mon in your party.
  • PokĆ©mon become cured over time.
  • EV gains are boosted on infected PokĆ©mon.

Testing

Wild Infections

After running the game at least once with the mod installed, open the config and modify wildInfectionChanceDenominator to 3, then run /pokerus reload. Change this back when youā€™re done testing, otherwise you will have a 100% chance to gain PokĆ©rus after a battle.

Open the game, battle a wild PokĆ©mon, and after the battle, one of your PokĆ©mon should have PokĆ©rus. You can confirm this by going to the PokĆ©monā€™s mark list.

EV Gain Boost

Note your PokĆ©monā€™s current EVs for Speed. Run /pokespawn magikarp and knock it out. Check your PokĆ©monā€™s new EVs, you should have received 2 instead of 1.

Spread to Party

Set chanceToSpread to 1 in the config and run /reload. Make sure you have both an infected PokƩmon and a non-infected PokƩmon on your team. Then engage in another battle with a wild PokƩmon. A previously non-infected PokƩmon should now be infected.

Cured

After (at max) four in-game days of battling with a PokĆ©mon that has contracted PokĆ©rus, check their EV page again and you should see that their PokĆ©rus infection has been cured. They still gain boosted EVs, they just canā€™t spread it to other PokĆ©mon on their team.
