Corrosylva
Corrosylva is a progression-focused Minecraft mod centered around industrial corruption, environmental hazards, gated research, and large-scale machinery. Advancement is controlled through research systems, protected structures, and powerful but risky tools.
⦠World & Materials
š³ Corroded Wood
Corrosylva introduces a new wood type:
- Corroded Wood
- Includes Corroded Planks and related blocks
- Integrated into industrial and corrupted build sets
⣠Polluted & Corroded Blocks
Several blocks introduced by Corrosylva are polluted or corroded and can spread over time.
- Spreading behavior is visible when increasing
randomTickSpeed(recommended ~100ā400) - High values may cause performance issues depending on simulation distance
- These blocks transform nearby compatible blocks into polluted or corroded variants
⣠Smog Storms
Around every 10-30 minutes or more, a smog storm will begin. The player will begin to take damage every 10 seconds and be inflicted with mining fatigue, naseua and poison. You can hide in a shelter or underground to be safe from the storm. Storms last around 2-4 minutes. Particles will decrease visibility when you are outdoors.
⦠Research & Progression
š Innovation Codex
Players begin the game with the Innovation Codex, which governs research progression.
- Right-click in main hand to open a research tree menu
- Research nodes require:
- Research Points
- Occasionally additional item costs
- Completing research nodes may:
- Unlock recipes
- Reward items directly
- The system functions but may require patience due to minor instability
š§© Research Shards
Research Points are obtained via Research Shards, found through:
- Looting certain structures
- Fishing
- Rare drops from creepers
Behavior:
- Shards vanish one at a time upon entering inventory
- Points are stored as a persistent, per-player stat
- Current total can be viewed in the Innovation Codex
š Item Info Book
Players also receive an Item Info Book at game start.
- Right-click to open
- Contains a single item slot
- Displays information about the inserted item
⦠Industrial Machinery
ā Tunneler
The Tunneler is a progression-locked mining machine designed for deep excavation.
Unlocking
- The crafting recipe is not known by default
- Requires obtaining a Tunneler Manuscript
- Manuscript is earned through Innovation Codex research
Power System
- Requires 1ā4 Battery Blocks placed adjacent (not above or below)
- Battery Blocks:
- Charged by right-clicking with a Power Core
- Maximum charge level: 10
Operation
- Shift + right-click with an empty main hand to activate
- The Tunneler:
- Moves downward
- Mines:
- 2 blocks outward horizontally
- 1 block upward and downward
- Destroys all blocks except:
- Battery Blocks (which move with it)
- Indestructible blocks (e.g., bedrock)
Energy Use
- Each downward movement consumes 1 battery charge
Storage
- Broken blocks are stored internally
- Inventory size equals a chest
- Opening the inventory disables the Tunneler
⦠Security & Automation
š” Factory Defender
The Factory Defender protects industrial structures.
- Prevents specific blocks from being broken while active
- Protected blocks include:
- Tunneler, Battery Blocks
- Industrial lights, sensors, wiring
- Redstone components
- Industrial concrete, terracotta, alloy blocks
- Corroded Planks and other structural elements
- The Factory Defender:
- Cannot be obtained in survival
- Drops gold and redstone, not itself
- Breaking the Factory Defender removes all protection
š Motion Sensor
- Detects entities entering its range
- Detection range extends 3 blocks outward based on facing direction
- Emits a redstone signal strength of 15 from its output side
šØ Warning Light
- Emits a repeating warning siren when powered
- Intended for alarms and industrial alerts
š” Industrial LED Lights
- Can be powered or toggled via right-click
- Adjacent lights automatically link together
- Turning one on or off affects all connected lights
⦠Environmental Hazards
ā Scorvetch
- Applies the Polluted effect to entities
- Effect:
- Deals periodic damage (similar to Wither)
- Drains hunger faster
- Penetrates armor
š± Toxic Sand
- May grow Toxic Ferns
- Toxic Ferns poison entities that walk into them
š£ Industry TNT
When ignited:
- Converts all blocks within 20 blocks into polluted or corroded variants
- May ignite dirt blocks
- Applies Industrial Fire to all entities in range
Industrial Fire:
- Cannot be extinguished with water
- Requires Purified Water
š° Purified Water
- Created by smelting a water bottle in a furnace
- Used to extinguish Industrial Fire
⦠Weapons & Tools
ā Burst Sword
- Right-click to dash forward several blocks
- Has a cooldown between uses
ā” Charged Burst Sword
- Upgraded version of the Burst Sword
- Damages entities passed through during a dash
šŖ Charged Alloy Axe
- While sneaking, breaking a log:
- Destroys all connected logs and leaves (tree-felling behavior)
- Consumes additional durability proportional to blocks destroyed
⦠Dimension Progression
